West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady has expressed her admiration for the work that manager David Wagner has done at Huddersfield Town.

The German has been linked with the manager’s job at the London stadium over the past few months, and writing in her column for the Sun, Brady described the decision to hire Wagner as an “act of genius.”

“Terriers owner Dean Hoyle dipped his fingers into the German football pie and plucked out 46-year-old former US international Wagner from Borussia Dortmund II. It looks to be an act of genius. Eighteen months later and anyone who thought they would be softer than Yorkshire pudding can forget gravy and think about eating their own words.”

In addition to Wagner, Brady also praised the likes of Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez and Brighton boss Chris Hughton for their work at their respective clubs after gaining promotion to the Premier League.

The three promoted teams all sit comfortably in mid table currently while the Hammers struggle in 16th position. Manager Slaven Bilic continues to be a man under pressure after West Ham gave away a 2-0 lead against Crystal Palace at the weekend. Speculation about the Croatian’s future has been rife in recent weeks but Brady and the club’s owners have done very littleĀ  to stop the talk surrounding Bilic.
