West Ham are safe at their new home the London Stadium despite recent fears they could be evicted.

The body that owns the stadium are reportedly close to administration due to spiralling costs and limited revenue, leading to fears the Hammers could be locked out of their new home.

However, according to Sky Sports, regardless of the stadium owner’s uncertain future, West Ham will remain safe at the former Olympic Stadium.

A clause in the contract between the two parties states that if they were to go into administration, the agreement would automatically transfer to the LLDC.

If the aforementioned was to happen, it could mean a rise if West Ham’s current £2.5 million annual rent,  however it is thought this is unlikely with the terms of the 99-year lease are likely not to be renegotiated.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan had previously commissioned a report on the financing of the stadium, which is set to be published in a number of weeks and will help clarify the current situation at the London Stadium.
