West Ham are set to beat Liverpool to the signing of Poland striker Lukasz Teodorczyk, reports the Daily Star.

Liverpool had been linked with Teodorczyk during the summer before the striker made his move to Anderlecht permanent, however it is now West Ham who lead the chase for the Poland international.

The Hammers have had tough start to the season in front of goal, and with the futures of their current strike force up in the air, manager Slaven Bilic is likely to turn to Teodorczyk to help solve his goal scoring woes.

The 26-year-old striker hit 30 goals in all competitions for current side Anderlecht last season, and after carrying his good form into the new season, the Polish international has been heavily linked with a move away from Belgium.

The former Dynamo Kiev star is rated at around £7 million, and West Ham could be ready to launch a bid as soon as January in order to secure the services of the sought after striker.
