West Ham United have struggled to find consistency this season and the Hammers will have been left feeling frustrated this week following the draw with Burnley, where Slaven Bilic’s side conceded a late goal.

Bilic’s men spent the majority of the match playing with ten-men, due to Andy Carroll’s dismissal in the first-half after earning two yellow cards in a matter of minutes, but there have been considerable improvements from the side.

BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson also believes this, stating he feels the Hammers have turned a corner this season, and in his weekly predictions he’s tipped West Ham to defeat Brighton 2-0 on Friday evening- whilst identifying Manuel Lanzini’s return as crucial.

“I do feel like West Ham have turned the corner since the start of the season, even if Andy Carroll’s red card probably cost them victory at Burnley last week. Manuel Lanzini is fully fit, which makes a big difference, and I don’t worry about their form at London Stadium any more either.”

“I am expecting Brighton to make things difficult for the Hammers on Friday night, but I still think Slaven Bilic’s side will find a way through.”

Brighton, currently level on points with the Hammers, enter this week’s clash on the back of a frustrating draw with Everton- conceding a last-gasp penalty to throw away what would have been a crucial victory.
