Hammers cult hero Carlton Cole has revealed how is he proud to be part of the club’s rich history and says he will ‘always love West Ham’.

Cole, speaking on whufc.com, spoke of his greatest memories in Claret and Blue, including scoring his first and last goals; finding the net against his former club Chelsea; and of course winning the Championship play-off final against Blackpool in 2012.

One of the former England striker’s surprising ‘finest moments’ however was his return to the club this season for the game against Tottenham at the London Stadium.

“It was brilliant to be back. I did a bit of TV for beIN Sport and it was great to see the fans. I went on the pitch at half-time and even though we were losing they still welcomed me.” said Cole.

“I’m very happy to be part of West Ham’s history and I’ll always love West Ham.”

Cole is now back in his home country and looking for a new club after a disappointing spell in Indonesia with Persib Bandung, and says he is looking forward to beginning the new chapter of his already well travelled career.

“I’m back in England now looking for a club. I’ve been doing some hardcore training and I’m looking to see where my future lies. I still enjoy the game and I want to end my career on a high.” he continued.

“Hopefully I can squeeze out a few more years and give my knowledge to the youth too.”
