After securing our first points of the season, the Hammers go into Saturday reinvigorated.

Credit where credit is due, the 2-0 win against Huddersfield arose thanks to some a tactically astute changes by Slaven Bilic. The Croat (belatedly) acknowledged Javier Hernandez was being wasted on the flank and made the call for Andre Ayew to inject some energy late on.

Now the question remains whether the Hammers can build on the win, or if it simply papered over the cracks.

The clean sheet suggests the club is making progress. Despite dominating possession, Huddersfield managed just two shots on target throughout the match. The resolute defence was heightened by a masterclass display by Pablo Zabaleta who excelled in front of the London Stadium crowd for his home debut.

However, it’s a results business. And a loss to West Brom would quickly diminish the good work against the Terriers and render Bilic’s position as insecure as it was prior to Monday’s win.

The Hammers boast a solid record against the Baggies, but Bilic’s side have won just once in their last 10 away games.

Hammers, would you take a point on Saturday? Or is only a win good enough? Let us know in the comments…
