Former Everton star Phil Neville said he’s surprised Liverpool did not sign Joe Hart from Manchester City this summer.
The former Manchester United defender, speaking following Liverpool’s draw with Sevilla, claimed that Joe Hart would improve Klopp’s team.
Hart sealed a loan move to the London Stadium in July after being cast out of Manchester City by Pep Guardiola.
So far England’s number one has conceded 10 goals in his four games for the club, but did manage to keep his first clean sheet in Monday’s 2-0 win over Huddersfield.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5LIVE (via the Express), the expert said: “I’m surprised he didn’t go out and get Joe Hart. A real top-class, experienced goalkeeper.
“I think he’s (Hart) better than what they’ve got. I think he would have given them a bit of stature at the back.”
The West Ham backline hasn’t done Hart any favours in his spell so far, but that hasn’t stopped the 29 year-old from being mocked by fans of other Premier League teams.
Liverpool fans have taken to social media to ridicule Neville’s suggestion that Hart would improve their side…
Don't understand why so many English pundits think Joe Hart is a class keeper
Imagine adding Joe Hart to our defence. Now that would be the total catastrophe
