West Ham have reinstated their interest in Portugal international Danilo Pereira after sending scouts to watch the midfielder in action on Sunday, reports EatSleepSport (via Football London).

The 26-year-old was in action for Porto during their 2-1 win over Rio Ave at the weekend.

Pereira had been linked with a move to the London Stadium during the summer after being touted as a potential plan b should the Hammers miss out on Sporting Lisbon star William Carvalho.

With the ongoing spat between West Ham and Lisbon causing a breakdown in relations between the two clubs, it is now thought the East Londoners will focus their attentions on making Pereira their next big signing, and could move for him as early as January.

The midfielder has been an impressive force in Porto’s midfield over the past two-and-a-bit seasons, making 67 appearances and scoring 11 goals.

The Euro 2016 winner has also been capped 23 times by his country.
