West Ham finally got off the mark in the Premier League after a 2-0 victory over Huddersfield, but that didn’t stop Hammers fans from complaining.
Monday night’s game saw Slaven Bilic recall Andy Carroll to the starting XI for the first time since April. The former England international who had overcome a longstanding groin problem played as a lone striker, while new signing Javier Hernandez was pushed out to the wing.
This came much to the bemusement of the London Stadium faithful. Chicharito is renowned for being a goal poacher and his ability to do that is considerably less likely when deployed from the wing.
Yet the Mexican was forced to accommodate Carroll and as anticipated, Hernandez was largely ineffective. The 28 year-old was substituted after an hour for Andre Ayew and the Ghanaian quickly changed the game.
Hammers fans have taken to Twitter to take a swipe at Slaven Bilic’s tactics…
Imagine being Chicharito and signing for a team desperate for a striker, playing out on the wing and being subbed off after 60 mins #WHUHUD

Having Chicharito on the wing is like having Chris Kyle on the front lines. I'm sure he'd nick a couple but he'd score a lot more up top
