Slaven Bilic has revealed how he is targeting success in the Carabao Cup after last night’s clash against Bolton Wanderers.

The Hammers beat Wanderers 3-0 with a dominant performance at the London Stadium, with Angelo Ogbonna, Diafra Sakho and Arthur Masuaku – whose wonder goal was his first for the club – finding the scoresheet to help Slaven Bilic’s side safely through to the fourth round.

After the win, Bilic believes his side can go far in the competition.

“Of course, we are very ambitious and of course we are thinking about the cup in a positive way. We are not far away from making it a big success for every individual and for the club.” said the Croatian speaking on the club’s official website.

“We [would] need a good draw. We would need a few top performances, and you are talking about three, four games, it’s not a league. It’s a good chance for us, like it is for all the clubs.”

The Hammers have had an altogether difficult start to the new campaign, however having lost their three opening games in the Premier League there form in recent weeks has been a sign of encouragement and that things could be on the up for the East London club.

“I’m upbeat, if you are looking at the last week It has been a good week for us. We were on zero points having conceded ten goals in three games, now two games later we have four points and didn’t concede in either game. We limited two teams to one or two chances.”
