Sporting Lisbon will not part ways with West Ham target William Carvalho despite the player still keen to leave the club, reports TalkSPORT.

The two clubs have been caught in a feud over the past few weeks over the failed transfer of the Portugal international, who looked set to complete a switch to the London Stadium during the summer only for the Portuguese club to allegedly change their asking price for the midfielder on numerous occasions.

West Ham were believed to offer as much as £35 million for Carvalho, however Sporting were holding out for in excess of £40 million.

Since the close of the transfer window, Sporting have denied any such approach for the player, with the club’s chairman Bruno de Carvalho launching a verbal attack on Hammers owners David Gold and David Sullivan.

Despite the spat, West Ham were thought to be planning to go in again for Carvalho this winter, however it is reported that Sporting will not be parting ways with the midfielder unless his £40 million buy out clause is met.
