West Ham club captain Mark Noble has insisted that it is the result that matters for his side tonight against Huddersfield Town, and not the performance.

The Hammers will be looking to register their first three points of the Premier League season following three consecutive away day defeats in the league against the league’s new boys, and Noble says the manner of victory is unimportant, but that his side must win tonight to take away the growing pressure on both the players and manager.

“Our season starts again tonight, really. If I am being honest, all that matters to us at the minute is winning football games. I’ve said it many times before and I’m not going to stop saying it!” said Noble on the club’s official website.

“It doesn’t matter if we play like Barcelona or Real Madrid, because if we lose then how we played is not important when you consider the position we find ourselves in.”

The Hammers run of form has seen manager Slaven Bilic’s future thrown into serious doubt, especially considering the Croatian’s on-going spat with the club’s owners, at West Ham’s position at joint bottom of the Premier League table is an increasing cause of for concern for fans.

Noble believes however that the first home game of the season can be a turning point in the campaign, and and has urged the fans to help make the London Stadium a fortress for the club.

“[I’d say to our fans] ‘Please give it your all and get behind the lads tonight. We want to make this place a fortress this season and you can play a massive part in helping us do just that’.”
