West Ham youngster Reece Oxford has been named on the shortlist for 2017’s Golden Boy alongside 24 of the world’s other biggest footballing talents.

Oxford, who is spending the season on loan with Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach, finds himself alongside the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele and Christian Pulisic among the nominees.

Fellow Englishman Marcus Rashford, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Kyle Walker-Peters, Joe Gomez and Dominic Solanke also help make up the 25-man shortlist.

The award, decided by Italian newspaper Tuttosport, aims to find the top player under the age of 21 in the world.

PSG’s Kylian Mbappe is favourite to land the award after a terrific last-season with Monaco in which he was the star man in their Ligue 1 winning campaign, while Ousmane Dembele of Barcelona is likely to rival his international team-mate for the prestigious award.

Previous winners of the award include Swansea loanee Renato Sanches, Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba and Lionel Messi.
