West Ham fans have been bemused as the selection of Aaran Cresswell in Gareth Southgate’s most recent England squad.
The Three Lions boss earlier yesterday released his full squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against both Slovenia and Lithuania, which included two West Ham players, with both Joe Hart and Aaron Cresswell included in the squad for the upcoming fixtures.
Fabian Delph was perhaps the only surprise inclusion in the 25-man-strong side, with the Manchester City returning to the national side after an almost 18 month long absence through injury and poor form. His recent displays off the bench for City have seen him once again given the nod.
Michael Keane and Harry Maguire, who were both newly called up on recently, retain their spots, while another Jamie Vardy and another of West Ham’s stars Michail Antonio miss out amidst injury problems.
Given Cresswell’s poor form last season and the emergence of Arthur Masuaku as the Hammer’s number one choice at left-back this year, many of the Claret and Blue army are surprised to see the Englishman make the cut for the Three Lions ….
