West Ham and Tottenham have been charged £20,000 each by the FA for failing to control their players during Saturday’s clash at the London Stadium.

Tensions boiled over late on in the weekends close encounter, with players from both sides clashing in injury time resulting in referee Michael Oliver brandishing five yellow cards within a matter of minutes.

Spurs emerged 3-2 victors to condemn the Hammers to their fourth Premier League defeat in six games.

Tottenham had previously led 3-0 thanks to a brace from Harry Kane and a strike from Chrstian Eriksen, however goals from Javier Hernandez and Cheikhou Kouyate either side of a Serge Aurier red card set up a thrilling finale.

The FA confirmed in a statement on Thursday afternoon: “West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have each been fined £20,000, after they admitted an FA misconduct charge and accepted the standard penalty.

“It was alleged that in or around the 95th minute of their fixture on Saturday (23 September 2017), both clubs failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.”

Manager Slaven Bilic said: “The FA can’t have grey zones, so we have accepted the charge.”
