According to reports, West Ham captain Mark Noble was dropped prior to suffering a knee injury.
The skipper missed out as West Ham achieved their first three points of the season in a 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town on Monday night.
Noble was reportedly left out of the starting XI by Slav and was duty to prop up the substitutes bench, prior to tweaking a ligament is his knee.
The Hammers faired well enough without their captain. Andre Ayew stepped off the bench to change the game, claiming a goal and an assist.
It’s unclear how long Noble will be sidelined for, but Bilic’s decision to drop the 31 year-old has pleased a number of supporters disappointed with the midfielder’s recent performances.
The East Londoners are now up to 18th in the league, but could push up the table with victory over West Brom on Saturday.
Whether Noble features at The Hawthorns remain uncertain. But some fans who took to Twitter do not appear to be too concerned…
If we beat West Brom I think that will be Noble out the team permanently

Don't care that Noble ain't starting or wherever he is as long as I have my Kouyate and Obiang partnership❤️

Kouyate and Obiang in the middle is much better without Noble

Surely Noble ain't getting back in the next game. Kouyate and Obiang are the best pairing
