West Ham manager Slaven Bilic turned down the opportunity to sign both Renato Sanches and Gregorz Krychowiak as he was ‘happy with his squad’, says Hammers co-owner David Sullivan.

The Hammers failed to do any business on deadline say, with the aforementioned duo joining Swansea City and West Bromwich Albion on-loan respectively, however the Croatian could have seen both players come to the London Stadium instead.

“Grzegorz Krychowiak and Renato Sanches were both offered to the manager before their switches elsewhere, but he told us that he is happy with the squad he has.” said Sullivan speaking on the club’s official website.

“As a Board we are behind Slaven, and he believes he has the tools to turn around our form and rectify our disappointing start to the season.”

The Croatian had signed his ‘top four’ targets already this summer in the form of Pablo Zabaleta, Joe Hart, Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez according to Sullivan, causing him to turn down moves for the Portugal and Poland internationals.

“Overall Slaven is happy with the business we have done during the summer transfer window. We received the manager’s wish-list before the window opened and we have managed to get the top four players on it.”
