Slaven Bilic says West Ham won’t be signing former Arsenal and Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna.

The Frenchman was released by Manchester City at the end of last season and is yet to find a new club. However, Bilic has ruled out his side from making a move for the former France international, stating there is no need for another right back.

In his Standard Sport column, the Croat wrote: “We have been linked with Bacary Sagna, who is out of contract and a free agent.

“Bacary is a fine player who has played at the highest standard, but he is a full-back and this is not a position in which we need strengthening.”

West Ham need to get back to winning ways, and fast. The club are yet to register a point from their opening three games and have conceded 10 in the process.

Despite Sagna’s availability, a right-back was already signed this summer – the Hammers recruited Sagna’s former teammate Pablo Zabaleta whilst they already have 23 year-old Sam Byram to call upon.
