West Ham have joined fellow Premier League clubs West Bromwich Albion and Burnley in expressing their interest in £12 million rated Lorient striker Abdul Majeed Waris.

The Daily Mail reports that all three clubs have enquired about the Ghana international in the past week.

Waris, who once had trials as a teenager at Manchester City, moved to Lorient in the summer of 2015, and has since scored an 21 times in 58 appearances for the French club. However, after Les Merlus were relegated last season to Ligue 2 via the play-offs, Waris is thought to open to leaving the club.

Lorient have a track record of acting as a springboard for a number of European internationals, with the likes of Laurent Koscielny, Kevin Gameiro and Seydou Keita all beginning their their careers with the French outfit.

Slaven Bilic is thought to be interested in the Ghana international – who has scored 4 times in 22 caps for his country – as he looks to bolster his attacking options, with both Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho rumoured to be leaving the club.
