Former Blackburn Rovers and Wales star Robbie Savage says he expect West Ham to finish in the top half of the season next year after completing the “two of the best signings this summer.”

The Hammers finished 11th in what was a frustrating previous campaign, but have recruited heavily this summer, bringing in a number of proven Premier League stars. Pablo Zabaleta, Marko Arnauotivic, Joe Hart and Javier Hernandez have all joined the club since July 1st, and Savage expects the latter two of that group to be pivotal to the club’s success over the next 10 months.

“As much as the Hammers’ recruitment last summer was poor, they have pulled off two of the best deals of this window by bringing in England keeper Joe Hart and Javier Hernandez.” said Savage before adding: “And after the teething troubles of moving into their new home last season, the worst may be over for Slaven Bilic.

“I fancy them to inhabit the top half. Verdict: Bubbles flying high 8th.”

The Hammers kick off their Premier League campaign as they travel to Old Trafford to face Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United on Sunday.
