Three reasons signing William Carvalho is a huge move for West Ham
West Ham do have plenty of options in the middle of park, especially when it comes to defensive midfield. Pedro Obiang is the first choice for the position, but alongside him all of Mark Noble, Cheikhou Kouyate and Edimilson Fernandes can all occupy the role effectively.
Despite those options however, none of, especially the latter three, amount to the quality that William Carvalho is able to provide in the centre of midfield. A huge physical presence on the pitch at 6″2 tall and almost 90kg heavy, Carvalho mans the centre of park with assurance and a fine range of passing. Slotting in next to Obiang, the pair would prove to be a formidable force for Slaven Bilic’s side.
