Reece Oxford has got off to the perfect start in .

The West Ham youngster – who is spending the season on with Bundesliga side – scored his first goal for his new club yesterday, rising high from a corner to head home in style to make it 1-1 against Malaga.

The goal sparked a comeback from The Foals, with Raffael slotting home from the spot to give Gladbach the victory. Oxford picked up the Man of the Match award.

There were some West Ham who were disappointed to see the young Englishman shipped out on loan, feeling his talent should be given a chance to shine this upcoming season, especially given the poor of some of the West Ham defence.

However, a move to Germany, and more specifically Borussia Monchengladbach, will without doubt prove – as it is already being shown – to be a move best for both player and club.
