Sunderland manager Simon Grayson has said he will sell defender Lamine Kone if the right offer comes in, with both West Ham and Southampton interested in the Ivory Coast international, reports the Daily Star.

Kone has struggled for form at the Stadium of Light in recent months, with many fans believing their once star man is performing badly in an attempt to leave the club, however Grayson has dismissed such claims after his impressive display on the opening day of the Championship season in a 1-1 draw with Derby County.

“He has shown a good attitude,” said the Sunderland chief. “We have a value on his head and if nobody reaches that value, he will stay. Lamine has been questioned but he was outstanding the other night.”

Kone joined Sunderland from Ligue 1 side FC Lorient in January 2016 for an undisclosed fee, and has since made 39 appearances for the Black Cats in all competitions, finding the net three times.
