Reece Oxford appears to be finding his feet in Germany with new club Borussia Monchengladbach as the youngster ground the net for the first time during his side’s 2-1 win over Malaga in pre-season.

The 18-year-old – who joined the Bundesliga outfit on a season long-loan earlier this summer – headed home in fine fashion from a corner in the 77th minute only shortly after being introduced, before Brazilian Raffael completed the victory from the penalty spot late on.

Oxford – who was named Man of the Match after the victory – said after the game: “I’m happy to score but it’s more important that we completed the turnaround.”

The strike was his first in for The Foals since his move, and Oxford will be looking to continue his good form in his home country later this week as ‘Gladbach travel to Leicester City in their final game of pre-season, before beginning the domestic campaign in the DFB-Pokal first round against RW Essen next week.
