A number of betting syndicates have cut the odds on Robert Snodgrass signing for Championship side Aston Villa to as little as 4/9.

The Scotland international has this week been rumoured to be an £8 million target for Villa boss Steve Bruce who is looking to add reinforcements to his midfield in an effort to build his side’s promotion challenge.

Snodgrass joined West Ham only earlier this year in January for £10 million, having impressed during the first half of last season with Hull City. The 29-year-old scored 9 goals before the turn of the year, prompting West Ham to pay a double figure sum for his services.

Since the move to the London Stadium however, the Scot has since failed to replicate the form he showed for the Tigers, failing the find the net at all in 15 appearances between the turn of the year and May. He again struggled in pre-season, was left out of Slaven Bilic’s squad for the weekend’s defeat at Manchester United.
