West Ham have been given hope in their pursuit of Sporting Lisbon striker Bas Dost after club President Bruno de Carvalho has refused to rule out the forward leaving the club this summer.

Slaven Bilic is thought to be keen on bringing the 28-year-old to the London Stadium as he looks to add firepower to his squad. The Croatian has already completed the signing of former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, but wants to provide support for the Mexican amidst injury problems with Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll.

Dost, who scored 36 goals for Lisbon last season, is seen as one of the club’s most prized assets, however could be allowed to leave this summer if the right offer comes in.

“All I can do is confirm that I don’t have the need to sell at this time,” de Carvalho said earlier this summer. However, if I receive a crazy offer, I will accept. If I have a good offer, and the willingness of the player, we’ll see”.

The Dutchman joined the Portuguese side from Wolfsburg last summer for a fee reported to be in the region of €12 million.
