Manuel Lanzini has returned to first team training ahead of tomorrow night’s Carabao Cup clash with Cheltenham Town.

The Hammers travel to Whaddon Road for the fixture, their third consecutive away day, and will be looking for a repeat result of the last time the pair faced off. The two clubs were drawn against each other in the same competition back in 2013, with West Ham emerging 2-1 victors.

Slaven Bilic has been boosted by the return of a number of his injured stars to training ahead of the game, with Cheikhou Kouyate in contention and Michail Antonio – who returned at the weekend against Southampton – likely to start.

Lanzini has been out with injury since the beginning of the club’s pre-season tour of Europe, and is not expected to feature against the League Two side.

The Argentine has been sorely missed in the Hammers opening two fixtures of the Premier League season – losses to both Manchester United and Southampton – and could be back for the weekend’s clash against Newcastle.
