West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to wish former player and current first team coach Julian Dicks Happy Birthday.

Dicks – known affectionately as ‘The Terminator’ from his time as a Hammer – spent ten years and two spells with the club between 1988 and 1999, making over 250 appearances and scoring an impressive 50 times.

He was named Hammer of the Year four times.

The no nonsense defender won the hearts of West Ham fans everywhere with his die hard defending and tough tackling, something which developed the once Liverpool player a reputation as one of football ‘hard men’ during his time on the pitch.

After retiring from playing in 2002, Dicks has since had spells as manager of Wivenhoe Town, Grays Athletic and Sealand, before returning to the London Stadium in 2015 as the first team head coach, working alongside manager Slaven Bilic. He also spent a year as manager of West Ham Ladies beforehand in which he made the FA Cup final, only to lose out to Charlton Athletic.

Happy Birthday, Julian!
