Brentford star Jota is thought to prefer a move to West Ham in order to stay in the Capital amidst interest from West Ham and Derby County, reports the Derby Telegraph.

The Spaniard had an impressive last season with the Championship side, finding the net 12 times and producing 5 assists for his team-mates, and his performances attracted the attention of Hammers boss Slaven Bilic.

The Croatian is looking to further bolster his options, despite having already signed five players this summer in what has been an extremely busy transfer window at the London Stadium. The Hammers have already completed deals for Pablo Zabaleta, Joe Hart, Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez and most recently Montenegro youngster Sead Haksabanovic.

The Bees reportedly want £8 million for Jota, a fee both West Ham and Derby are thought to be willing to match for his services.

Jota however is looking to play in the Premier League and would prefer not to leave London, making West Ham an ideal destination for the former Eibar midfielder.
