Hammers forward Enner Valencia has joined Mexican side Tigres for an undisclosed fee.

The Ecuadorian signed for West Ham for a £12 million in 2014 from Pachuca following an impressive World Cup campaign, but the 27-year-old has since struggled to replicate the form he showed on the international stage at the London Stadium, with his progress often halted by injury problems.

Valencia spent last season on-loan at Everton, making 30 appearances for Ronald Koeman’s side and scoring 3 goals. The Toffees decided not to take on the striker as a permanent option.

The forward will be best remembered by West Ham fans for his thunderbolt effort against Hull City during his first season with the club, as well as his brace in a thrilling 2-2 draw with Manchester City.

A statement on West Ham’s official website this morning read: ‘West Ham United would like to thank Enner for his efforts and wish him all the best for his future career.’
