Pedro Obiang has put pen to paper to sign a new five year deal with West Ham United.

The Sun reports that a deal between player and club was met last night, and that an announcement from West Ham is expected later this afternoon.

Slaven Bilic has acted quickly to keep hold of the Spaniard amidst interest from Everton, with Obiang now set to stay at the London Stadium until 2022.

A fan favourite, the 25-year-old midfielder spent the latter part of last season on the sidelines with an ankle injury, but is expected to be fit for the club’s pre-season tour of Europe.

Obiang joins both Michail Antonio and Angelo Ogbonna, who both also signed new long term deals with the club recently, as West Ham look to keep hold of their best players and push on after an hit-and-miss last campaign.

Besides the deals for the aforementioned, West Ham have made only one signing so far this summer, that being Pablo Zabaleta, who joined the East London club after having been released by Manchester City.
