Middlesbrough are the latest club to be linked with a move for West Ham youngster Ashley Fletcher.

The Mirror claims that Garry Monk is interested in bring the 21-year-old to the Riverside as he continues his summer overhaul, and is willing to pay up to £7 million for his signature.

Boro have already signed a number of high profile players the summer including Martin Braithwaite, Darren Randolph and Britt Assombalonga, but will have to compete with Watford, Brighton and Huddersfield, who are also keen on Fletcher and can offer the striker Premier League football.

Fletcher joined West Ham last summer on a free transfer from Manchester United, but has since struggled for opportunities in the first team, making only two starts last season, and is again likely to struggle after the Hammers completed the £16 million signing of Javier Hernandez earlier this week.

West Ham are understood to prefer a loan move for the youngster, but may be willing to sell should the right offer be made.
