West Ham opened their pre-season fixtures last night with a disappointing 0-0 draw against Austrian third tier side Sturm Graz II.

The Hammers created plenty of chances in what was a competitive 90 minutes of football, however failed to find the net despite fielding an entire set of fresh legs for the second half. Slaven Bilic gave each of his players a 45 minute run out against the Austrian opposition.

Many fans were disappointed with the result, with many expecting Bilic’s side to run riot against what was deemed a relatively weak opposition, and were in some cases infuriated after Bilic revealed the team had been struggling to score in training. 

However, don’t panic West Ham fans. While it may not have been the most encouraging of starts, there are reasons to remain positive.
