West Ham United striker Ashley Fletcher has left the club’s pre-season training camp in Germany ahead of his proposed move to Championship side Middlesbrough.
The Sun reports that a £7 million fee between the clubs has been agreed for the youngster, and Fletcher will now fly home for talks with Garry Monk’s side.
The move comes only days after West Ham completed the signing of former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, who’s arrival means Fletcher – formerly of United himself too – will again struggle for first team football at the London Stadium this coming campaign.
Last season, the 21-year-old made only two starts, finding the net once against his former club.
Should Fletcher join Boro, he would be one of a number of high profile signings to make their way to the Riverside this summer as manager Gary Monk looks to secure promotion directly back to the Premier League after they were relegated last season.
