West Ham United striker Ashley Fletcher has left the club’s pre-season training camp in Germany ahead of his proposed move to Championship side Middlesbrough.

The Sun reports that a £7 million fee between the clubs has been agreed for the youngster, and Fletcher will now fly home for talks with Garry Monk’s side.

Fletcher joined West Ham only last summer on a free transfer from Manchester United, but has since struggled to make an impact at the London Stadium, with opportunities for first team football lacking. The 21-year-old made only 2 starts last season, and with the Hammers having only last week completed the signing of Javier Hernandez from Bayer Leverkusen, Fletcher now finds himself further down the pecking order.

Only recently the striker committed his future to club by saying he wanted to stay and fight for his place, however following Middlesbrough’s huge £7 million offer and the opportunity for more regular football, it now appears Fletcher’s short career as a West Ham player is nearing it’s close.
