Javier Hernandez has been heavily linked with a move to West Ham over the past week after reports emerged that he was set to leave Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach this summer.

The former Manchester United striker is available for £13 million and the Hammers have made him one of their top targets in an attempt to solve the striker crisis at the London Stadium.

While talks between the two clubs remain ongoing, reports suggest that West Ham may be unable to match the Mexico international’s astronomical wage bill – which equates to an astonishing £140,000 a week.

Such huge wages demands could be a major roadblock in the Hammers signing ‘Chicharito’, with the club possibly unable to afford it, as well as the fact it would see the new man become to club’s highest paid player by a huge margin.
