West Ham are ready to make a second bid for highly rated Eupen forward, according to reports from The Express.

The Hammers had a £7 million for the Nigerian rejected only yesterday, with reports suggesting the Belgian club were holding out for a ‘more prestigious club’ to move for their prized asset, however it is more likely the club are instead holding out for a larger fee for the in demand star.

With Slaven Bilic’s side reportedly adamant on securing the 20-year-old’s signature, a second bid is likely to put in in the coming days.

“West Ham are going to put in a second bid for Henry Onyekuru,” the source told website AllNigeriaSoccer.

“The first bid was rejected because Eupen believe he is worth more money, but West Ham are very keen on Henry.”

Onyekuru was previously subject to a bid from Arsenal only last month, but a move never materialised.

The forward had an impressive debut campaign for Eupen last season, finishing as the league’s joint top scorer with 22 goals.
