West Ham have been joined by Zenit St Petersburg and Fiorentina in pursuing a deal for Inter Milan forward Eder, according to Fcinternews.it.

The Italian website say that due to the fact Zenit and Fiorentina have former Inter managers as coaches now, both are seeking to link up again with the Italian international.

Roberto Mancini has recently joined Zenit but he was in charge last season when the 30 year old was signed from Sampdoria for £8.3m. Stefano Pioli meanwhile was one of the managers who took over at the Giuseppe Meazza after Mancini resigned last summer, and he too would have good knowledge of the player.

West Ham’s association with Eder goes back a few weeks when it was mooted that Inter would use the Brazilian born striker in a part exchange deal to sign Hammers left back Arthur Masuaku.

FCInternews.it suggest that the London club are keeping an interest in the player due to his ability to score goals from wide positions and the potential for him to replace Dimitri Payet. It should be said however that Eder’s best performances have come as a central striker and would certainly not be a like for like replacement for the Frenchman.
