Toulouse forward Martin Braithwaite has refused to say whether he will be leaving the French club in the summer.

The 26 year old played for Denmark against Germany in a friendly on Tuesday night, and after the game, German tabloid Bild asked the striker about the rumours linking him with Cologne, West Ham and other clubs. He said:

“There is much speculation, I do not want to comment on clubs or rumours.”

Bild are now reporting Marseille have also entered the race to sign Braithwaite. The Danish international has been the subject of bids from West Ham in the past but it looks as though this time round the Hammers will face competition for the player’s signature.

The forward can play through the middle or out on the wing, as he did against Germany. He scored 12 goals and provided 3 assists in 36 appearances last season. His flexibility to play in a number of positions will no doubt have been a consideration for West Ham in their pursuit of the player.

It must be said though that the club has been linked with a whole host of forwards this week with Kelechi Iheanacho, Michy Batshuayi, Christian Benteke, Max Kruse, Steve Mounie and Alassane Plea all rumoured targets.
