Michail Antonio has praised the arrival of Pablo Zabaleta ahead of the new season in an exclusive interview on whufc.com.

The Argentine joined West Ham on a free transfer at the end of last season after having spent 9 trophy-full seasons with the Sky Blues, winning 2 Premier Leagues, 2 League Cups and an FA Cup during his time with the club.

Last seasons Hammer of the Year Michail Antonio believes the addition of Zabaleta can only be a good thing for the players and the club.

“He has great experience with Manchester City, he’s won the Premier League title and experienced it all.” said Antonio, before adding: “It’s not just ability that he is bringing, it’s his knowledge of the game, and we can all learn from him.”

Antonio, 27, spent the latter part of last season on the sidelines having sustained a nasty hamstring injury during the 1-0 over Swansea back in April, however still managed to finish as the club’s top scorer as he bagged 9 times in all competitions.

The former Nottingham Forest man himself says he cannot wait for the new season, especially after suffering his injury back in April.

“I am so determined to have a great season, especially after the injury. My target at the start of last season was to improve and score more goals than I had the previous year. And I ended up getting the same number, nine.

“So next season, I want to reach it. I want to get to that mark as soon as possible so that I can make it higher, keep pushing myself and keep getting better.”
