West Ham have been named as the 15th most valuable club in world football in business magazine Forbes.

David Gold and David Sullivan’s club were valued at $634m – or £491m – placing them above the likes of both AS Roma and SSC Napoli, both of whom also made the coveted top twenty list.

A further seven Premier League clubs also made the cut, with Leicester City, Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United helping make up the register.

United returned to the top of the table for the first time in five years having been valued at an eye watering $3.69bn (£2.86bn). Barcelona finished in second $3.64bn (£2.82bn), while Real Madrid trailed them closely in third following their valuation of $3.58bn (£2.77bn).

The Hammers 15th place was their highest ever position, having been handed the 17th and 19th spots respectively in the previous two years after a six year long absence.
