Huddersfield Town are reportedly interested in signing West Ham forward Ashley Fletcher this summer, according to reports from The Mirror, with the Terriers understood to be happy to either take Fletcher on-loan, or pay up to £5 million for his services.
David Wagner’s side gained an unlikely promotion to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs last season and are now looking to strengthen their squad ahead of what is set to be a difficult campaign.
Fletcher – who joined the Hammers from Manchester United as a free agent only last summer – could be their first signing of the summer following a difficult season for the 21-year-old at the London Stadium.
The striker made only 20 appearances in all competitions, mostly from the substitutes bench, and scored only once – that being against his former club Manchester United in the EFL Cup back in November.
West Ham fans have take to Twitter to react to the news, with some seemingly happy and some not-so about the potential departure of the young Englishman. Here is what they think …
Don't want to sound harsh on the lad but I really don't see what others see in Ashley Fletcher…

Unfortunately after @davidgold comments I'd take it, out of respect to @AshFletcher___ as he won't get a look in even though he should.

West ham have never given Ashley Fletcher a proper chance
They preferred non scoring forwards like Zaza
Calieri

Even with U23 football he seemed out of his depth a bit
