West Ham could face competition from Manchester United in their efforts to sign Joe Hart from Manchester City this summer.

The Telegraph reports that should Manchester United sell David De Gea to Real Madrid, then Jose Mourinho may turn to Hart as the Spaniard’s replacement.

Hart – who spent last season on loan at Serie A side Torino – was told by Pep Guardiola that he free to leave the club as he no longer features in his future plans at the Etihad Stadium..

Following the news, West Ham have since become the favourite to sign the keeper and reports suggest that Hart himself is keen on making the move to the London Stadium as he looks for regular first team football to cement his position as England number one amidst competition from Fraser Forster and Jack Butland.

Slaven Bilic is looking to strengthen his side after a poor last season and could make Hart his first signing of the summer. The deal for Hart would most likely be a season-long loan with the option to buy.
