The agent of West Ham target Carlos Bacca has said the Colombian forward will consider a move to ‘ambitious’ Ligue 1 club Marseille this summer.

Bacca almost left current club AC Milan last year, but looks certain to leave the Serie A side this time around after an average season in the Italian top flight. Bacca scored 13 goals for Vincenzo Montella’s side in 34 appearances in all competitions.

Speaking with RMC, Bacca’s agent Sergio Barila said: “Ligue 1 has become an attractive league, as more and more clubs are trying to compete with Paris Saint-Germain and the presence of a great like [Marseille sporting director] Andoni Zubizarreta proves that OM have a serious and ambitious project.”

Barila added: “This is the World Cup year and Carlos wants to participate with his Colombia. That means he must choose a club that can guarantee him visibility.”

West Ham have long been linked with a move for the 30-year-old striker and were close to signing the Colombian forward last summer before the transfer window shut.
