West Ham goalkeeper Adrian says he wants to have discussions over his future despite the club having activated their option to extend his contract for a further two years.

The Spaniard has had to spend most of this campaign on the bench with Darren Randolph taking the number one jersey. He has however returned to the starting eleven for the last four matches but he wants clarification on whether he will be an important first team member next season. In an interview with Argentinian news outlet terra.com.ar, he said:

“I would like to know what intentions they have with me, whether I will play or not. And then it is important to see the project, what is to be done next year. This is my fourth season at the club and I want to aim for more [success]”

The 30 year old was then asked about a prospective return to Spain. He said he would consider a move to La Liga if the right offer was made:

“If something interesting comes along we would talk to the club, but the option for two years is for them (West Ham). We have to sit down, talk and come to an agreement.”

Adrian has been at the club for best part of four years since joining from Real Betis in 2013 on a free transfer. For the majority of his time in England, he has been first choice, but it seems that despite being settled in the country, he wants some guarantees on first team football before committing to the club for next season.
