Monaco have entered the race to sign Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, according to the Sun.

The Champions League semi-finalists can offer the Belgian international top level European football next season after winning Ligue One. On top of that, the former Marseille forward is said to be keen on a move back to France making the French club red hot favourites to sign the player this summer.

West Ham and Newcastle were both reportedly keen on the 23 year old, who has looked impressive for Chelsea since being given more game time by manager Antonio Conte late on in the campaign.

It will come as a blow to manager Slaven Bilic if Monaco’s interest is indeed genuine. The Hammers have been pursuing the Belgian star since last summer when they lodged a €35million bid. Despite his decision to move to Chelsea, West Ham have kept an eye on Batshuayi but their pursuit may end in disappointment once again.
