Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour says he can see Gunners player Jack Wilshere making a move to West Ham in the summer, although he believes the club may be put off by both the 25 year old’s asking price and injury problems.

The midfielder spent a year out on loan at Bournemouth before another injury cut his season short. Parlour told Talksport (quotes via the Daily Express) that the player now has a big decision to make on his future with just one year left on his contract:

“West Ham might be ideal for Jack Wilshere. I think if he wants to play on a regular basis, yes (I think he should leave), I really do. I don’t think he will play on a regular basis, I know he’s had his injuries this season as well but he’s played a lot more football.”

“Again, I’ll go back to West Ham, they will be looking at midfielders, a bit more quality. I would say would Jack be worth £10million. He’s only got a year left on his contract, that’s the big stumbling block.”

Wilshere suffered a broken leg in the 4-0 defeat to Tottenham in April, but during his spell with the Cherries he did manage to play 27 games, making two assists.

He is unlikely to be offered a new deal in the summer with Arsenal seeking to sell before he can leave for nothing next summer. Whether the Hammers would take a risk on a player who has been beset by so many injury setbacks remains to be seen.
