Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has hinted that the Ligue One side may consider a move for Montpellier attacking Ryad Boudebouz in the summer.

French media reports have indicated that the Algerian international will be sold in the summer for €10million (£8.5m) with West Ham, Southampton and Nice said to be interested in making a move for the 27 year old.

Aulas was asked about Boudebouz’s situation at Montpellier and he responded that although they had not made a move for the player, he was someone they have admired for a number of years since he was at Sochaux; a club he left in 2013. He is quoted by Footmercato.net as saying:

“It’s a little premature. He is a player who is very popular in Lyon, who could have come a few years ago when he left Sochaux. Let’s not anticipate. That being the case, we will be searching and there will be arrivals.”

Boudebouz has been in good form for Montpellier this season despite seemingly being deemed surplus to requirements. In 33 matches in Ligue One the midfielder has scored 11 goals and provided nine assists. The Hammers could be seeking to sign another creative player in the summer, and the Algerian may fit the bill.
