Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek will “demand” a loan move from manager Antonio Conte, according to the Times.
The 21 year old has struggled for game time under the Italian this season with just six substitute appearances in the Premier League. The England Under 21 international has however started four games in cup competitions this campaign, but he was last selected in the starting lineup for the 4-0 win over Brentford in the FA Cup fourth round tie back in late January.
Loftus-Cheek has been linked with West Ham since the start of the season, and it could well be that manager Slaven Bilic revives a bid to sign him on loan in the summer.
The Croatian has however revealed in his column for the Evening Standard that he is looking for quality rather than quantity for next season, and after last summer’s problems signing unproven talent, the Hammers boss may err on the side of caution and elect for more experienced, established stars.
