Hoffenheim striker Sandro Wagner has responded to manager Julian Nagelsmann saying he would only consider selling the player for €50m.

The German is reportedly a summer transfer target for both West Ham and Swansea City, and talking to German magazine Kicker, Wagner joked he was a bit disappointed that his asking price isn’t higher than that:

“I had expected a bit more!”

Nagelsmann was asked about the rumours linking Wagner with a Premier League move in a press conference on Thursday:

“If someone comes and says he wants to pay €50 million, I’ll think about it.”

Wagner has been in good form for Hoffenheim this season. In 33 matches in all competitions, the 29 year old has scored 12 goals and provided four assists. He only moved from Darmstadt for £2.4m at the start of the season after scoring 14 goals in the Bundesliga last campaign.

Wagner has helped Hoffenheim achieve a fourth place finish in the league, qualifying them for the playoff round stage of the Champions League for next season. He has also recently been called up by Germany for the Confederations Cup in June.
